Scotts Valley’s Canton Restaurant Menu:
I created this design as a class project where I was tasked with designing a menu for a local restaurant. At the time I was living with my parents as the pandemic had just started and, as such, I chose one of my favorite restaurants from my childhood, Scotts Valley’s Canton Restaurant. The restaurant itself is a small, family owned and operated business making Cantonese dishes for an American audience. Their existing menu had almost no design to it and, because the restaurant had very little existing branding, I was able to not only create a well-rounded design but a new brand identity as well. My mission was to create a design that was easy to navigate for the client without compromising the integrity of the extensive menu. I accomplished this by making use of hierarchy and color variation in order for the viewer to easily navigate the many choices and maximize the efficiency of the takeout menu.
