I created this zine for a class project as an introspective look at the personal lessons that I had learned over the course of 2020. I chose the name, We Bloom in the Most Unusual Places, to articulate how we are forced to grow under difficult circumstances and can even come back stronger than before. The zine consisted of 7 spreads including the title page and glossary which makes it 16 pages in total including the front and back covers. The main spreads each discuss a different lesson explaining how I have learned to let go and learned to rebuild when I have been broken, all communicated to the reader through the combination of meaningful poetry, my own illustrations, and images. I have included three of my favorite spreads and the cover of the zine to demonstrate the overall aesthetic of the piece as a whole.
